Early Golden Apricot trees ripen from June to July and require slightly less than 300 chill hours(8-13 days exposed to 45 degrees F. or below). This Apricot Tree is self fertile, however production is improved by cross pollination. The Early Golden Apricot tree is an old cultivar that has become a leading commercial favorite in apricot orchards, because of the high sugar content and extra sweet taste. Some gardeners prefer planting the Early Golden Apricot tree, because it bears large fruit, that when ripe, develops that unmistakable fragrance that is unique to apricots.
