Red Gelato mulberries contain enough sugar to sun dry them to be eaten later during the Winter. The heavy leaf cover on the Gelato Red Mulberry tree hides the berries underneath in the shade from hungry birds, and can withstand temperatures of minus below zero F. Fat red Gelato mulberries were reported to have been hybridized in Italy from American native mulberry trees. Red mulberry fruit ripen in June, a period in between the early ripening white mulberry and the late maturing black mulberry.

4 of 5 Pretty parched. May 25, 2020

From GA to NY is a stretch. The tree arrived within the allotted time. Perhaps earlier in the season it would not have dried out so much. I am hopefull that it will take off though and be happy in our small stretch of fruit bearing trees.

3 of 5 Red mulberryTrees May 15, 2020

They sold me 3 trees and they were to be 5-6 ft. 2 were 5 feet and one was way under and for the price i paid you would expect them to be what they said they would be.  They come bare rooted in a jell which was almost dry.  I hope they live. Took way to long to get them in the mail.

3 of 5 Unfortunate April 30, 2020
Reviewer: Brendan Nichols from Keystone heights , FL United States
My complaint has nothing at all to do with tyty themselves but rather the fruit of the gelato variety.  The tree came in good condition, well packed and has grown into a beautiful tree, now going into the third year the fruit are minuscule, a quarter inch at best.  Though there are tons of them they are just too tiny to be of any use.
