&bul; Super Texas Star&bul; grafted mayhaw trees have been tested at the USDA Experimental Station in orchards near Tifton, Georgia, that bloom in mid-March and most of the mayhaws ripens in May, as reported by horticulturalist, Dr. Gerard W. Krewer, even though these large mayhaws are red, and the tasty pulp is yellow, and the fruit is light in weight, only a few pounds of berries will fill a gallon container.. T he Super Texas Star mayhaws are so large, the harvesting is fast, making these mayhaws very popular commercial berries in Louisiana and Texas.

I ordered two trees about a month ago.  They were shipped bare root.  I planted them the day that I received them, and I watered them twice per day.  All are doing  fine.

Received both trees in good condition.  I'll wait for them to break dormancy to see how they do in zone 6.  Charlie

Trees I ordered were 3-4 feet.  The ones I received were closer to 5 feet.  There were pruned nicely and looked healthy. Only concern is that they had come out of dormancy and were already leafed out.  Overall everything has gone well.
