The Li Jujube (pronounced either &bul; Lee&bul; or &bul; Lye&bul; originally was discovered in China and imported by Frank N. Meyer who found that this cultivar is in full bloom in June, and the fruit set takes place then and ripens in late July in Georgia being very precocious. The tree tends to branch outwards like an umbrella form.
