The Flordabelle Peach tree has become a standard peach tree cultivar that was developed by the University of Florida for growing best in tropical climates that had been tested in Southern Florida for many years. This peach tree only requires 150 chill hours to set fruit. The Flordabelle peach is yellow skinned and sweetly flavored with a red overlay of fuzz, and the interior delicious firmness of the flesh is yellow, aromatic and delicious to eat when picked directly off the tree in early May. This attractive peach is a freestone peach and grows well in USDA zones 8 – 10.
