Pollination & Fruit Production
- Pollination: The Giant Fuyu Persimmon Tree is self-pollinating, which means it can produce fruit with just one tree. However, planting additional trees can help improve fruit size and yield.
- Recommended Varieties: While the tree is self-pollinating, pairing it with other persimmon varieties like Hachiya or Eureka can enhance pollination and ensure larger, more consistent fruit.
- Fruit Description: The Giant Fuyu persimmons are large, flat, and squat, with a rich, deep orange skin and firm flesh that stays crunchy even when fully ripe.
- Taste: These persimmons are known for their honey-like sweetness, with a refreshing, light flavor that makes them ideal for both savory and sweet culinary applications.
- Ripening Time: The fruit ripens in mid to late fall, typically from October to November, offering a late-season harvest of delectable, non-astringent persimmons.
