Chocolate Persimmon, Maru, is a flat exotic persimmon, shaped like a tomato, that when completely ripened, the skin and interior pulp changes from an orange color to a brown, and the juicy ripe Maru, develops a sweet, nutmeg, spicy flavor. The Chocolate persimmon, Maru, is cold hardy to USDA climate zone 7 – 10.
