Cercis canadensis 'JN2' 'The Rising Sun®' = (Jackson Nursery 2) TM Plant Patent 21,451. Vivid pink clusters of pink cover the bare branches of this showy Redbud flowering tree in early spring. Following this spectacle of brilliant pink flowers is the emergence of 6 inch leaves shaped like hearts in vibrant tones of yellow, all leaves appearing with a random patchwork of orange and gold spotting on the iridescent leaves. As the 'The Rising Sun®' Redbud tree matures, the mottled colors of the leaves is transformed into a light chartreuse color, but the continuously development of new leaves still appears - brightly colored against the maturing chartreuse leaf background. In the fall the leaves all turn yellow, red and orange. As the winter season arrives, the defoliated tree exhibits bark that is smooth with a soft yellow ornamental coloring. The trees grow slowly towards maturity as small 10 – 12 ft.Specimens in practically any type of soil profile with a high drought tolerance, and the leaves do not exhibit any shriveling effects from the hot summer sun exposure like most other trees.

4 of 5 Good size Rising Sun Redbud February 23, 2021

The size was fine but roots were black. Not sure if that is how it should be.  Was it because of the water from gel. I hope the tree grows as expected.
I wish I had received it in December as scheduled so it would have time to get settled before flowering season.

Received our tree last week and it appears to be in wonderful condition. Carefully packed, and the size/quality of the tree is very nice.  Very happy with my purchase and can't wait to see this tree this summer!

4 of 5 rising sun redbud tree February 17, 2021
Reviewer: martin andrews from Palmetto, GA United States
i am a bit concerned about a couple of the roots being split while digging the trees... i'm hoping they'll be fine.... have they ever considered using the grow bags... they are black mesh bags that let the tree grow  in the field yet they are much easier to dig when time comes.... the roots grow yet the bag contains them and when you dig the tree it is much simpler .... might want to try them .... thanks.m. andrews
