The Golden Nectar plum tree is very cold hardy from USDA zones 5 – 8 and requires 400 chill hours to form plums. The golden yellow skin is thin, waxy and pleasantly scented when ripe. The rich flavor of sweet and sour are well balanced when they ripen in July and August. The shelf life of the Golden Nectar plums are extended for grocery store sales, and the fruit keeps well in cold storage. This commercial plum tree is an excellent fruit to grow in any backyard orchard.
