The Red Catawba Bunch Grape Vine was discovered growing as a seedling selection more than 100 years ago, and its deep red color makes it popular for juice, jelly and for pink champagne and for home grower's wine making. The Red Catawba Bunch Grape Vine produces large clusters of well spaced loose grapes that have a richness and sweet flavor that keeps well under refrigeration for long periods, and this grape is often used as a large, spicy, desert, table grape that ripens in late September.

Question? 3 year old plant? April 4, 2018
Reviewer: Richard Webb from Mills River, NC United States
I am OK with the root system but cannot believe this has been in the field for 3 years. Propagation in the rooting bed starts with a cutting about the length of what you sent. Your plant (3yrs?) now has a caliper of 1/2 " at base and 5/16 " at top node. One branch (decent size)about 1 1/2 inches above the top root and one branch about 4 inches above top root. Stems seem to me to be about a year old and the roots look to be 2 years (well developed), but not a 3 year plant. Plant is viable at topmost area of stem and I know it will do well but I am not happy with the overall size of the plant.
