Elberta peaches ripen Late July through August and need 800 chill hours (5 weeks of 45 degrees F or below) to set fruit. Planting a different variety near the Elberta will help increase the pollen available during flowering and help increase the fruit quality, but other varieties are not needed to produce peaches. This red peach is one of the most famous peaches in the United States. Hardy, disease resistant fruits of are large and freestone, colored deep golden yellow, blushed a deep red. The Elberta peach, when tree ripened, can be as large as a coffee cup. Peaches can be dried, preserved or made into jelly for consumption months after the initial harvest. The flowering of an Elberta Peach tree can begin in early March after a winter warmup.

Both the Elberta and Red Haven peach trees arrived with no broken lateral branches and an intact and moist root system.
They were the same size and appeared to be in good condition.  We planted them right away  with drip irrigation and hope for good results.
They were small but well formed and we received good information about when they would arrive and were home to make sure they were out of our hot sun.

5 of 5 Grade A seedling in well thought out packing May 19, 2022

The peach tree arrived packed in loads of water gel.  I was surprised how big it was.  Unwrapping the tree was easier this time because of the easy to find end of the packing tape.  The peach tree was green with a hint of buds.  I planted it quickly
