The cold hardy Northern James pecan tree is an excellent grafted tree selection that produces thin-shelled pecans, leading to medium size product (90 nuts per pound) with an oily, crunchy kernel that is enriched with a sweet aromatic substance, perfect for fresh eating, or to place into a newly baked pecan pie or for roasting into a tasty crispiness for eating later. The Northern James pecan tree has been documented to grow in below zero temperatures of New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania, and a 6 foot tall tree often produces a few nuts the first year of planting.

They don't come as tall as advertised. They do have a trunk that shows they're older.

Never thought I would or could grow a pecan tree this far north, but it's still dormant, but hopefully they will take off and thrive.

Reviewer: Jordan Jemiola from Julesburg, CO United States
Plants arrived very fast and bare root. Pecan trees were larger than I expected. Waiting for trees to bud. So far, so good.
