The Candy Pecan tree variety ripens in early fall, sometimes as early as mid-October, and some young trees can produce nuts the first year. If you buy a tree 8 feet or taller, it usually bears the first season. The papershell Candy pecan tree that originated from a selected seedling hybrid has become a favorite at home orchards, because of its reliable productivity of high quality nuts year after year. With a selection of the Candy pecan tree, you are guaranteed to grow a big harvest of in-shell nuts. The paper-like shell surrounding the nut is so thin that perfect halves are often the result of shelling.

6-7 ft tall April 13, 2018

Nice 1 inch diameter tree with larger root with many root hairs and side roots made these easy to transplant. Buds all along the central leader with one to two scaffolds. I look forward to seeing their size next year. My only concern is the taproot which has to be clipped at about 2 feet to allow for shipping. Clean cut with no obvious damage. Hopefully this wil regrow and in the next few years I wil be able to harvest a few pecans.

Tree looked like it was shipped as an excellent specimen but arrived in very dry! Will know if it lives in late spring, early summer. UPS was not a good shipper this time.

I have been shopping ty ty for a long time. Just planted 29 assorted named pecans. 4 walnut trees., 4 assorted named blueberrys, 4 plum, 1 peach, three dogwoods and 1 cherry tree. To be honest I am purchasing late at clearance time and am.haveing mixed reactions. They arrive all allive and scratch green. After over a.month only a few of the pecans and budded or leafed out but still scratch as green. Keeping my fingers crossed.
