The Golden Rhino Horn Banana tree originated in Africa, where the banana plants can be found growing in dense thickets on mountains near snow capped peaks. The Golden Rhino Horn Banana rates as the most cold hardy fruiting banana plant and the green-yellow color of the banana develops on the tree. The flavor of the Golden Rhino Horn Banana Fruit is equal or sweeter than any grocery store banana that you buy at the market Northern Texas customers reported that the Golden Rhino Horn Banana Trees & Bulbs survived the Winter of the 1990's record low cold weather. Our plants are field grown, which allows the bulb roots to grow unrestricted in several directions. It is not unusual for a mother bulb to have roots 20ft long in the fall. Banana plant roots cannot grow satisfactorily in a 6 inch pot that is offered to buy from most mail order companies.

Not certain how well the tree will do. The root ball appeared to be rather small with very few roots. I followed the instructions when planting. Time will tell.
