This wonderful variety came from a second generation cross, the Mary Nell Holly Shrub Plant was created from the combination of the Burford Holly, Red Delight Holly and then was crossed with the Lusterleaf Holly. The Mary Nell Holly Shrub is a great plant to use for privacy or as a wind barrier, since this large evergreen tree grows wide as well as tall. For the best look plant the Mary Nell Holly Tree in groups of three or more which will make the planting more aesthetically pleasing.
