We want to thank you, in advance, for choosing The TyTy Nursery and Bulb Co. as your nursery supplier.

Backorders

Why backorder citrus?

Citrus plants can now only be sold or shipped to customers from the State of Georgia, because of a new regulation from the USDA that was issued in 2008 in an effort to quarantine and isolate the spread of a new disease that threatens the national survival of citrus trees. This new citrus threat of survival has endangered a very important industry in Florida, California, Texas and Louisiana, and national shipments of citrus will not resume by TyTy Nursery until the USDA notifies us that shipping restrictions have been lifted.

For customers who have ordered previously Citrus, we will put your orders on hold until the Government releases them, however, if you do not agree that your order is being placed on backorder, please notify your credit card company and call us to permit TyTy to refund your backorder, if you do not want to wait for future government action. Citrus normally can be shipped anytime during the year, and we hope that the government will develop an appropriate plan to resume shipments of citrus plants that have been cleared by inspectors to be free from this disease by proper chemical treatments.

Why Backorder?

The Nursery at TyTy offers numerous plants, trees, bushes, bulbs and perennials for sale, and deciduous plants can only be sent bareroot during the season of dormancy. Some flower bulbs can be shipped successfully only when they are dormant, however, rhizomes and corms require stricter policies. Other flower bulbs can be supped best after sprouting, and banana corms show extremely high rates of survival transplanting when they are shipped in an active state of growth.

The Nursery at TyTy does not grow on its location all plant products that are offered for sale, but some are purchased from other nurseries for resale. Because of this condition of subcontracting, all of the products offered by the Nursery at TyTy are not available to be shipped immediately, but the orders pending will be put on backorder and shipped as soon as the time they become available, unless the customer calls us to permit a refund of their order by credit card or my company check.

Most deciduous fruit trees, and all pecan trees are pruned, free of charge, prior to shipping. Texas A&M recommends 1/3 pruning of trees. Other trees, shrubs, bulbs, perennials, etc. may be pruned as deemed necessary by the shipping manager, to facilitate the most efficient method of delivery and to insure the most favorable survivability. The plant sizes listed online represent the unpruned plant height.

Return Policy

Do we offer refunds?

Cancellations for orders placed with TyTy Nursery are not accepted, because TyTy Nursery reserves and holds the ordered plants for the customer, when the order is placed. Refunds are only available if plants are ordered on the TyTy Nursery website checkout, and if these plants are not available to seasonally ship as a complete order. When checkout orders are placed on the TyTy website to prohibited quarantined states, TyTy will refund these orders. TyTy will also refund orders placed for citrus plants in all states other than the State of Georgia if the customer requests it. If our shipper UPS, damages plants in shipment, the customer should promptly file a complaint with UPS, who in turn, will reimburse TyTy for the shipment to be replaced. Plants are healthy and guaranteed to grow and sold by TyTy, because all plants that TyTy grows or purchases for resale are inspected before shipment by the Department of Agriculture and are certified to be healthy. If the plants do not grow after 1 year of planting, the Nursery at TyTy offers a free plant replacement, if picked up at the nursery at the proper season with your replacement application, or the plants may be shipped to the customer upon mailing the replacement application to P.O. Box 130 Ty Ty, GA 31795.

How do I return a plant that dies within the first year?

Our nursery stock cannot be returned without the express written permission of TyTy Nursery. In all cases goods cannot be returned after they have been accepted, processed, improperly stored, planted, or otherwise treated, modified or used in any way. Before returning dead plants for replacement, the following season, customer must fill out the RA (Return Authorization) application on the order form and mail it to us so we can review it. The RA application can only be returned to TyTy Nursery, postmarked by mail, to P.O. Box 130, TyTy, GA 31795. Each plant should be given a proper and fair chance for survival and growth within a 1 year period after planting. Within 30 days after TyTy receives and evaluates your RA application, TyTy will mail an RA number to you, which you should write the RA number on the label of the original box that you return the dead plants along with 25% of the plant cost (minimum $20.00) to cover the shipping cost for UPS and boxing expenses to return your replacement plant. The plants returned must be returned complete, not shredded, separated roots or in broken pieces in the original box, so that we can analyze the cause of the plant death and minimize future losses. Once your replacement application has been approved, you will be notified by postcard, and your replacement plants will be shipped to you after receiving the shipping fees the following dormant season, or whenever the plants are in stock within a year after your R.A. has been approved. Replacements of orders cannot be made unless the replacement application is approved, plants are returned with proper shipping charges within one year of plant receipt. Shipping charges can be avoided by returning unsatisfactory plants to our warehouse in Ty Ty, GA with the purchase receipt, and no charge will be made for packaging your replacement plants.

What happens if my plants arrive damaged?

Nursery stock is perishable. All shipments should be immediately and carefully unpacked and inspected on arrival and then placed in proper storage if not planted within 30 days. Any problems with the condition or quality or quantity of goods received should be brought to our attention immediately. In the rare event that you should receive a package from one of our carriers that is obviously damaged in delivery, please report to the carrier the damaged package and refuse delivery, then call us to inform us of the problem, and we will promptly ship you a replacement order.

Shipping

Do we ship bare root or in containers?

All deciduous plants are shipped bare root, unless special arrangements have been made prior to shipping. Container grown deciduous plants are removed from the pots with most of the soil removed and shipped, are bare root. All plant roots are treated with a moisture gel, "Terrasorb", and carefully packaged for delivery. Shipping charges are 25% (15% postage - 10% packaging) of the total order, unless you request plants to be shipped in the containers, which will greatly increase shipping cost.

Do we ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. We have a minimum order of $5000 before we ship internationally and shipping cost is 40% of the total order. An additional cost of $50 is needed to get a phytosanitary certificate. However, please be aware after we ship an item internationally the U.S. Department of Agriculture has the right to quarantine any plants they see fit, to grow them first, in a controlled location before releasing them to the original addressee to verify they are in good condition. Quarantines do not usually happen, so it is not common for that to happen but it is always a possibility. Before we ship our plants internationally, we do have them inspected by our local agricultural department to make sure they are free of any type of disease or pest.

How long are the plants packaged to live during shipping?

We package our plants to last during shipment normally for 30 days. We wrap the plants coated in silicon gel and plastic, and use a silicon moisturizing gel called "Terra-Sorb" to keep the plants moist so they will not dry out during shipment. We ship all of our deciduous plants bare root, and we have been doing it that way for many years to cut back on shipping cost. To avoid the loss of your plant, it is strongly advised to plant it immediately after arrival.

How long does it take to receive an order?

Depending on the season, and if an item is in stock, it normally takes 7-10 business days to receive an order. Please allow up to two weeks for delivery in our busy season, between December through April. Some items may be delivered and received in a couple of days, depending on the location, so please be patient with us, for we ship many orders to people each day and packaging and processing does take time and since we value our customers a lot, we do our very best to get orders shipped as soon as possible.

What if the plant leaves are faded or have fallen off during shipment?

If your leaves have faded in color of have fallen off during shipment don't be alarmed, because that is normal through transit. Plants occasionally go through a brief transplant shock, but will normally revive shortly after they are replanted in the new location. Make sure that the plants are watered but not fertilized at all until after the first year of planting.

What is the shipping cost?

Shipping cost is 25% of the total order. For example if an item is $100, shipping will be $25.00

What is your shipping season?

Our bare root shipping season stretches from December 15th to April 30th.
