Palm Trees

The height of TyTy palm trees is measured from the bottom of the trunk to the topmost tip of the leaves. The American Nursery trade conforms to this standard of measurement called "OA", overall height.




Windmill Palm Trees have been grown successfully in every state except in the state of Alaska. Canada residents have found that the Windmill Palm Tree will flourish there in many locations. For that tropical look around your pool or patio, try planting a Windmill Palm Trees in your landscape in the North or if you prefer, pot them and grow palms indoors.

European Palm Trees are salt water tolerant and highly prized as specimen trees to plant at seaside resorts. Unlike most palm tree, the European Palm Tree grows in clusters, wher the central mother tree is surrounded with smaller offset trees. For privacy barrier, the European Palm Tree can be planted in rows to block property access and to filter out automobile fumes. In European metropolitan cities, the European (Mediterranean) Palm Trees are planted in large tubs at entrances of restaurants and are placed in the middle of streets to limit traffic at pedestrian malls.
