Oak Trees

Oak Trees come in so many shapes and size that it is difficult to list physical traits relevant to all varieties. Generally, oaks are slow growing plants with a high tannin concentrations that resist disease and infestation. Abundant acorn production makes the oak tree a favored tree among small animals and their predators alike. Oak is used commercially for its strength as well as its unique grain markings.

Live Oak trees are evergreen trees and can be easily grown in most areas of the South, where some large Live Oaks have grown for hundreds of years and provide cooling shade for resorts and home sites.
