The rare Devil Star Lily plant increases in size until finally when mature, the plant sends up to a 10-12 ft. stalk with a 3 ft. inflorescence. Butterflies love seed pods and hummingbirds love the flowers of the Devil Star Lily. Insects are entranced by the blooms which are abundantly pollinated, however, no insects or disease seem to bother the plant's foliage. The Devil Star Lily is an aggressive plant that towers up to 14 ft. tall in one season. Blooms of white shooting stars begin in July and colorful seed pods of red stars (pentagons) are centered by an emerald green semicircle puffed up with seeds inside. The Devil Star Lily has ornamental seed pods and begins blooming in July and continues until November.
