The purple berries of Beautyberry shrub are formed in late summer, and the berries are loved by birds, deer, and other wildlife animals. Two forms of the Beautyberry shrub grow colors of white and lavender-purple berries. The berries begin ripening in September and offer bountiful wildlife food to a wide variety of birds, and white-tailed deer as wildlife food plots into late November. The Beautyberry plants are spectacular in late fall landscapes and are often planted in open stands of pine trees and occur as native plants from Maryland to Texas.
