Crinum flowers generally grow best in full sun but also thrive in some shade. TyTy Nursery carries many varieties of Crinum that vary in shape, size, and color pattern.
The Elizabeth Traub Crinum hybrid is an improved form of Ellen Bosanquet that grows flower stalks that approach 6 feet in height and are topped with as many as twelve flowers. The Elizabeth Traub Crinum bulb can produce 8 or more flower stalks in a season, and the bulb grows to a very large size.
The Cecil Houdyshel Crinum was selected almost a century ago from hundreds of seedlings of the Crinum x Powellii pink crosses. This Crinum is still today one of the most reliable bloomers and are highly recommended for massive plantings in large landscape beds.
The delicate petals of the Ruby Stars Crinum are slightly reflexed and are affixed to a trumpet shaped flower of pure white that is striped in midpetal with wine-red bands that are tapered from the bloom center to the pointed tip of the petal with a captivating fragrance distinctively pleasant to the senses.
