Chestnut Trees

Chestnut trees produce a cluster of nuts encased by spiny burrs. Different species of Chestnut range in taste from bitter to sweet. Chestnuts contain lots of carbohydrates and can serve as a wheat flour substitute when grinded. The American chestnut was almost wiped out by the chestnut blight but has been changed to resist the disease genetically.
