The Zephyranthes candida is also called the Yellow Fairy Lily and has become widely escapedand naturalized in Maui and other Islands of Hawaii. The Yellow Zephyranthes Lily is considered to be the most cold hardy of the Rain Lily family members with long round leaves that are hollow. Zephyranthes citrina is the Yellow Rain Lily that is native to the swamplands of Guyana, and the yellow flowers begin to form in the early Fall and bloom prolifically after heavy rain showers. The Yellow Rain Lily is also called the Yellow Swamp Lily and the bulbs send out stolons that rapidly form clumps of bulbs. The long leaves are narrow, curved and pale green in color. The Yellow Rain Lily is salt water tolerant and grows prolifically in huge groups and clusters along beaches in Hawaii.
