Alternative Views:

The White Swamp Oak Shade Tree is found in the lowlands and along streams where it grows to 40 ft. tall and has a trunk diameter of 2 ft, where it is very important as a source of lumber and is becoming popular as a landscape tree because it is so easy to transplant and grow. The acorns of the White Swamp Oak Shade Tree are a favorite of wildlife, especially ducks, and it takes six months for the acorn to mature after pollination. White Swamp Oak acorns are elongated and grow in small groups on the tree. While the bark is very similar, the leaves of the tree are not quite as vibrant in the fall as the leaves of the White Oak.
