The White flowering peach grows best in an open, sunny location sheltered from wind. The tree is moderately hardy but quite short-lived, and requires much pruning to stimulate flowering so it may always look overly pruned. The White Flowering Peach has a somewhat greater growth range than the fruit trees, and of course are grown for their flowers. The fruit is either absent or inedible, and flowers can be damaged by an early frost, that appear between late winter and early spring. It is best placed where they are highly visible while in bloom but form the background of a landscape the rest of the year. After flowering, prune to encourage formation of flowering wood for next year, that will create a stunning White Flowering Peach tree that will get the full attention of all your neighbors in March, when it is cloaked in pure white.
