  Texas Star Banana Tree

Alternative Views:

The excellent Texas Star Banana tree grows 6-8 ft. tall with tasty, medium size fruit, and produces a sweet flavor. The original trees of the Texas Star banana were obtained from Wichita Falls, TX in 1978 by Ty Ty Nursery, and the banana plants have proven to survive cold temperatures better than any other banana trees on our test plots.

Healthy yet smaller than ordered May 21, 2015

Healthy yet not what I ordered and paid for.  It was 1/2 the size.  I haven't ordered here before and it will be my last.  I understand mistakes happen but with both trees?

One hardy banana plant March 18, 2015

I've ordered Texas Star Banana Trees a few times now from TyTy and wouldn't think of getting them anywhere else. They have the original and about the best price for it. All grew very well but not without learning curves. First order I about killed by planting in the wrong soil (they will not grow in Missouri/mid America soil at all, roots will rot FAST) but came back very strong after finally figuring a good mix of mostly sand and little soil. Loved'em and ordered more, then some arse came along and actually stole them out of my yard (apparently people steal these trees so keep an eye on them) I recently ordered more to replace them and they're doing very well growing strong and now protected from thieves. Thanks TyTy! Love'em!!

Not sure about the larger one I received (fruiting size).  It arrived with the main root in two large chunks connected by a couple of stringers.  Still, I planted it as usual. The other 3 banana plants are beginning to grow out pretty well, but this one's stalk is all brown.  Seeing how it goes.

Not nearly the 3 gallon size as advertised, more like 1 gallon.

I quickly received my order and these plants are 10 times bigger than plants I ordered from a Florida nursery.  I'll let you know if I get bananas!!
