Sevillano Olive Tree
A large spanish olive fruit is sought after by many gardeners and the Sevillano Olive tree can grow 25-30 feet tall or easy pruned to make the fruit picking easier. The use of a canned olive or a fermented spanish type olive is most desirable, since the Sevillano olive is not rich in oil content and not economically viable for pressing into olive oil. The huge size of the Sevillano olive has attracted considerable attention, and this olive is shaped like a plum and is about the size of a plum. The olives occur singly on twigs rather than in clusters and are harvested mainly in October. Olive oil is a very complex solution that is revered in cooking, but is difficult to choose from over 600 kinds of olive oil- each oil is a product of its complex environment, widely variable. Olive oil will even absorb the fragrance of flowers growing underneath the olive trees or capture the flavors of herbs or nut trees growing nearby.
