Seedling Jujube Tree
The Seedling Jujube tree grows rapidly 2-3 feet the first year and often produces fruit in October that is small and seedy, but the jujube plant is very desirable for pollinating hybrid jujubes. The jujube Seedling grows rapidly from the ground with thorny branches that begin flowering in April. Even though considered impalable by humans, the Seedling Jujube tree will attract wild turkey and other birds when the jujubes ripen. This rare plant results after a mature jujube tree root system has been severed from shoveling or spading around the base of the tree, on occasions when flowerbeds are planted beneath or when weeds are dug up. Great clusters of inedible fruit from Seedling Jujube trees that are considered ornamental pollinators by many gardeners.
