'Saucer White' Japanese Magnolia
The White Saucer Magnolia tree can grow 20-25 feet tall and begins flowering as early as December into Spring, depending on the temperature. The white flowers of the Saucer Magnolia trees are spectacular when planted in front of dark buildings when flowering begins. The large white flowers of the Saucer Magnolia trees are tinged pink that ages into bright white. After a week or two of full flowering, the Saucer Magnolia tree covers the ground with think pure white covering of petals. The round Saucer buds open into flat star shaped flowers that are very fragrant. A favorite use of the White Japanese Magnolia flowers is to cut budded branches and place them into a vase of water to open. 'Saucer White' Japanese Magnolia Tree blossoms are huge, measuring 8 or more inches in diameter. The star shaped flowers are beautiful with late appearing light green leaves. White Japanese Saucer Magnolia trees are often planted in combination with a red or purple flowering tree.
