'Royal Star' Japanese Magnolia
The Royal Star magnolia flowers appear in the Spring before the green leaves appearance. The Royal Star Magnolia tree is one of the most cold hardy flowering magnolia trees, a good selection for Northern states and is hardly ever damaged by cold weather. The multi-stems of the Royal Star Japanese magnolia grow branches near the ground and in the Spring flowering cover the entire body of the plant. The Royal Star magnolia can grow in to a small tree or a spreading bush, depending on the pruning, 15 feet tall and 15 feet wide in a rounded form. As an accent plant the Royal Star magnolia is perfect and the multi-petal flowers have a slight pink tinge maturing to pure white.
