Red Star Mayhaw Tree
The tasty Red Star Mayhaw orange berries are generally acid and vary in color from bright red to orange to yellow and are pleasingly fragrant and very juicy. Planting mayhaw trees with large bearing size branches can produce a crop of mayhaws the first year. Mayhaw Wine has a bright red color from the Red Star Mayhaw berries. It is suggested that extra sugar be added to mayhaws to produce the highest quality wine, since the mayhaw doesn't contain the high amounts of sugar as other fruits when ripening.
