Post Oak Tree
The bark of the Post Oak Shade Tree is reddish brown, and the acorns of the tree are sweet and mature after 1 year. The leaves of the Post Oak Shade tree often turn yellow, then red during the Fall from its normal, lustrous green color in the Summer. The leaves of the Post Oak Tree grow in the shape of a maltese cross, and the leaves of tree display brilliant and vivid colors during the Fall months, and grow up to 10 in. , long shaped like a Greek cross. The Post Oak Tree grows as a native tree from central Florida north to Connecticut and westward to Texas. The Post Oak Tree was used by early American pioneers to make fence posts--hence the name Post Oak.
