The Lombardy Poplar is huge in size, reaching 100' at maturity with a yearly growth over 18 inches. Full grown, the Lombardy Poplar (Black Poplar) will have a 10' spread, so by planting them 8' apart, you can create a solid privacy and noise barrier for your home. The pollen and seed of the Lombardy Poplar are found on separate plants and pollination is via the wind. The Lombardy Poplar Tree is a tall, fast-growing shade tree that has spire-like columns that rise as high as 100 ft.

If there is a ever breeze passing through the Lombardy Poplar Tree, the leaves dance wildly providing noises similar to that of waves crashing against an ocean shore. The Lombardy Poplar Tree provides excellent shade for bedrooms and landscapes, especially during the hot Summer months. The tree is adapted to a wide range of soil types, and when planted 8 feet apart in rows, provide a tall solid fence of privacy after just a few years. Lombardy Poplar Trees in the US typically reach 30'-50' in height, while European grown Lombardy poplars have exceeded 100'.

Decent value, shipped and packaged well. Ordered 8 received 9. I would suggest anyone considering these particular trees to do their research. Unlike myself, I did not. Insect and disease prone,

Already planted.  There budding good. These trees grow up to 80 ft. To 100 ft. They grow 4 to 8 ft. a year. Planted along our driveway.  In the fall the leaves turn  yellow.

Will purchase more items next year. Probably fruit trees.
We'll pkg. We have clay soil live in zone 7. So I added potting soil mixed with Peat Moss and Sand . Put Miracle Grow pellets on top of soil and watered real good. We had a lot of rain so I didn't have to water everyday. When I do water I do that in the evening.  You can also water early morning. If you live in a hot drought area they will grow.  I don't put mulch around trees the termites in the mulch will ruin them I just put extra potting soil mix.

Great Company June 2, 2015

We could not find any nurseries in our state that sold poplar trees and finally found that TyTy Nursery had what we were looking for.  We placed an order for 12 Lombardy Poplar Trees, received them within a week, and planted all of them.  Within 2 weeks they were all growing leaves.  We were so pleased with the trees and the prompt service that we subsequently purchased 10 more Lombardy Poplars.  Again, they arrived quickly, in great shape and are already growing within a matter of days of planting them.  TyTy Nursery is a great company providing great products and great service.

...doing relatively well July 8, 2014

7 of the ten trees leafed out as expected and are doing well.  The other three were brittle upon arrival, but I planted them anyway and kept them watered.  They began coming back from the roots and are coming up from the bottom.  As a result, they will be a year or so behind the others in growth, but it appears that they will grow up eventually.
