Jack's Black Fig Tree
Similar to the Black Mission Fig Tree, the Jack's Black Fig Tree only grows 8 ft. tall and produces a medium sized fig fruit with bright red pulp that is juicy and sweet. The Jack's Black Fig Tree is excellent for eating when freshly picked from the tree. However, the fig has a short shelf life and will not keep well for sales to roadside markets or grocery stores. Jack's Black figs are an excellent dessert supplement, whether eaten baked or served with other fruit. For a taste delight try dipping a Jack's Black fig into warm milk chocolate after the fig has been picked fresh from the tree. A bearing size fig tree can produce fresh figs for you the same year that the plant is established in your garden.
