Golden Showers in May
The Golden Raintree Shade Tree is a medium-sized shade tree that produces a remarkable floral display in June and July, in a cascade of brilliant yellow flowers produced in enormous panicles. The Golden Raintree turns bright yellow in the fall. Inflated decorative seed pods turn from pale green to pink as Summer progresses are very ornamental. The spring yellow flowers of the Golden Raintree are followed by Chinese lantern shaped oriental seedpods.

The Golden Rain Tree is a fast growing flowering tree that reaches twenty-five feet at maturity. The bright yellow flowers form huge clusters usually over one foot in diameter. After flowering the Golden Rain Tree flower clusters change into very attractive lantern clusters with that exotic oriental look. Each lantern contains seeds that birds and squirrels feed upon during the winter. In July when the lanterns first form they show color transition from pink to yellow, and then in late fall become a chocolate brown in color. Most homeowners consider the lantern formation more aesthetically pleasing than the initial yellow flowering in June. The Golden Rain Tree was originally introduced from China into America by president Thomas Jefferson from his planting the seed at his Monticello estate in Virginia, and many Golden Rain Trees are still growing and thriving there. These trees are often used by cities to plant in parks and recreational areas and especially along roadways where they easily absorb car exhaust fumes and automobile noise. The Golden Rain Trees are easily adapted to a wide range of soil types, and they also withstand cold temperatures as far north as Wisconsin.

Sturdy specimen, though I don't like trees to have had their tops chopped off.  Roots were well wrapped.  Box was smashed in upon arrival.

Too Soon To Rate April 6, 2015
Reviewer: Jane Sexton from Sharpsburg, GA United States
As the trees came pruned back all the way to just a trunk (stick) I can't rate until maybe next year to see if they are alive or just a stick. I would have ordered larger on all my trees if I had a better idea on how they would look on arrival.
Shipping was fast and as promised

I received my 2 trees and have planted them almost a week ago and have watered them daily. I hope that they live because I planted them in memory of my late husband.

Shipping March 9, 2015

I received this tree. I was in fair shape. When I ordered, I thought that there was going to be a root ball. I will plant, as I done all bare roots. In Memphis, have a 50/50 chance. I loved the picture. If it starts, will be nothing like it in my area, nor in Southeast Mo, where I originate.
