Flame Maple Tree
The USDA soil conservation services developed the Flame Maple tree that was released to tree nursery growers for distribution throughout the U.S. The Orange-Red brilliance of the fall leaf color in the Flame Maple tree matures into a deep red color as the fall dormancy season progresses. This Maple tree is a very cold hardy ornamental tree that survives freezing winters from zone 2-8. The Flame Maple tree is a very good shade tree choice for Northern and Southern States.
As a medium stature tree growing to only 20 feet the Flame Maple trees are poplar to grow under power lines since the tree hides the lines in a landscape and does not require extensive tree limb pruning in the future from the power company. The new light green color of the Flame Maple leaves begin to emerge in early Spring and maintain a consistent unique fresh color until the Fall leaf color drop.
