Calvin Coolidge Presidential Live Oak Tree

>Our nation's 30th President Calvin Coolidge(July 4, 1872- January 5, 1933) planted the Constitution Oak in December 1923, after only 3 months in office. After finishing out the term for the deceased President Harding, Coolidge was re-elected in 1924.

This live oak from St. Simons. Island is of the same species at that used in the building of the United States Frigate Constitution "Old Ironsides." The live oak timbers used in the Constitution were shipped from Gascoigne Bluff. the site of the Sea Island Yacht Club.
