• The Blue Ginger Lily is a native flowering plant of Hawaii that produces a beautiful, sapphire-blue cluster of flowers that lasts from September until frost, when the plant goes dormant. The Blue Ginger Lily grows larger each year to a mature height of four feet with much branching of stems and flowers. The small flowers of the Blue Ginger Lily are arranged in dense spikes of sapphire blue colored flowers in the late fall that persist for several weeks. Ty Ty Nursery introduced this ginger lily plant, a native plant to Hawaii, into the United States in 1982 in "Flower and Garden" magazine's new plant introductions January issue.
