The Pink Angel Trumpet is a member of the genus Brugmansia but were classified as Datura for over 200 years until 1973 when the genus was divided. Native to South America, Angel Trumpets have spread their beauty all over the world as beautiful flowering landscape trees.
Angel Trumpet plants grow as shrubs with very long and beautiful flowers which droop downward. Angel Trumpets are easy to grow in frost free environment but may need to be covered in colder climates.
Yellow Angel Trumpet blooms can be over a foot long and hang from the tree like trumpet shaped ornaments. All parts of the angel trumpet plant contain toxic, poisonous, alkaloids, atropine and scopolamine which can cause hallucinations, high blood pressure, and even death if ingested.
