Agave americana 'Variegata'

Alternative Views:

The Agave americana 'Variegata' is a mutation offspring from the Agave americana blue-green mother plant that is very similar in form and growth to the parent agave, except that variegated ribbon-like, stripes surround each leaf margin, that transform each agave plant into a spectacular specimen when planted in the landscape or in a container. The cold hardiness of 5 degrees F. makes the Agave americana 'Variegata' tolerant to cold temperatures in much of the US. The leaf margins may be striped either with a yellow or a white stripe. Suitable to grow in 5 degrees F., temperatures.

The Agave americana 'Variegata' plant has bright-green, succulent leaves with creamy stripes along the edges, and is armed with small brownish-red hooks. The Variegated Agave americnana 'Variegata' is evergreen in many areas and easy to grow. The rare Agave americana 'Variegata' Albino plant has golden-yellow leaves. The delicately arching leaves of the Agave americana 'Variegata' are cold hardy to 20*F, without leaf damage, and below to 10*F, where the plant will freeze but re-emerge in the Spring. The Agave americana 'Variegata' is an excellent landscape plant. An Agave americana 'Variegata' plant can grow to be 6-8 ft. tall and will make a great addition to your landscape.

Beautiful and ready to plant September 27, 2016

I love dealing with TyTy as their plants are so healthy and come well packaged. My Agaves arrived in perfect shape and looked better than their picture. They went right into the planter and look outstanding!  TyTy is my first choice when looking for plants.

One of the best! September 21, 2016

I don't usually shop at the big stores like Lowes and Home Depot for plants due to quality. TyTy has excellent quality plants that always arrive healthy and I really like that they come bare root, which is the best way to ship and plant your plants. Shipping is always well done and plants are very secure and well watered with their liquid gel around the roots. Always had good luck with TyTy plants and have ordered quite a few. Plan to get a Palm Tree very soon and it will also be through TyTy. I can recommend TyTy Nursery 100%!!

The picture and description were far better than the actual plant.  It is alive, however, wasn't really aware plainly how "dead/beat-up" it would look when it arrived.  Hopefully, it straightens up.
